Former Biopure Senior VP Howard Richman pleaded guilty this week to obstruction of justice. Richman, 57, faces up to 10 years in prison for pretending to have Stage 3 colorectal cancer in order to get out of a SEC lawsuit. The Pearland, Texas native pretended to be his own doctor by forging documents and "posed as his treating physician" in a call with his attorneys, all of whom later resigned, the Associated Press reports.
