Endo shares up on positive painkiller data

Shares of Endo Pharmaceuticals were on the rise this morning after the company announced that a follow-up clinical trial presented positive results for its extended-release oxymorphone painkiller. The FDA had required a follow-up study after it released an "approvable" letter for the painkiller in October 2003. The new study enlisted 205 patients with moderate to severe lower back pain and concluded that a statistically significant number suffered less pain during the 12-week study.
