Israel's D-Pharm, currently in Phase IIb with an experimental drug for strokes, has raised $10 million in a new round of venture capital. The biotech company, which is also developing therapies for brain disorders and epilepsy, has been studying ways to bind metal ions to cells to guard against cell death. The round was led by Clal Biotechnology Industries, Israel Healthcare Ventures and Pitango Venture Capital. Some existing investors such as Care Capital, Gemini, Polar Communications and others joined the round.
