Cellartis outlines $19M stem cells research pact

Scotland has agreed to help fund a three-year program mounted by Sweden's Cellartis to automate the production of human stem cells for research. Cellartis also announced a $19 million collaboration pact with ITI Life Sciences and the University of Glasgow.

"Life science research in Scotland, particularly in the stem cell area, is recognized internationally," says Mats Lundwall, CEO of Cellartis. "And by establishing a research base in Scotland, we hope to contribute to the growth of this sector, while at the same time expanding our own business and operations in Scotland."
