Susan Ciallella has been appointed interim CEO of Isolagen following the resignation of Frank DeLape. Ms. Ciallella previously served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary and is a member of Isolagen's board.

Barbeau Pharma announced that Charles N. Blitzer has been appointed to the position of president and CEO. Prior to joining Barbeau, Blitzer served as president and CEO of Fulcrum Pharmaceuticals.

MediciNova announced that Takashi Kiyoizumi, MD, PhD, has resigned as president and CEO and a director of MediciNova. The company also announced that Brian Anderson, chief business officer, has left the company. Yuichi Iwaki, MD, PhD, executive chairman of MediciNova, will serve as acting CEO.

The Pennsylvania Bio Board of Directors today announced that Dennis M. "Mickey" Flynn will be the next association president. He comes to Pennsylvania Bio from Puresyn, a privately owned separation and purification technology company in the biosciences market.

Wyeth announced that Jeffrey E. Keisling has been elected vice president, corporate information services and CIO. Keisling joined Wyeth in 2000 and was responsible for Information Services for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Genmab has appointed Bo Kruse as CFO.  Kruse was previously appointed interim CFO and will continue to oversee the company's finance and accounting activities.

Cytyc has appointed David P. Harding as senior vice president and president of the company's Cytyc International subsidiary. Harding joined Cytyc in October 2004 as vice president of marketing.

West Pharmaceutical Services promoted Don McMillan to the position of president, North America, Pharmaceutical Systems Division.

DRAXIS Health has promoted Dan Brazier to the newly created position of COO.

Novo Nordisk announced the appointment of John A. Germak, MD, to the position of clinical director of growth hormone, in the company's Clinical Research, Medical & Regulatory Affairs department. Dr. Germak joins Novo Nordisk from Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and Columbus Children's Hospital, where he was chief of pediatric endocrinology and associate professor of clinical pediatrics.

U.S. Genomics announced that Dr. Duncan Whitney joined the company as vice president of research and development. Prior to joining U.S. Genomics, Dr. Whitney served as vice president of technology for EXACT Sciences developing DNA diagnostic assays for cancer screening.

Biogen Idec named Naseem Amin, MD, senior vice president, business development. Dr. Amin joins Biogen Idec from Genzyme, where he handled partnerships and acquisitions.

Migenix announced that Nancy S. Coulson, senior vice president, product development, is resigning from the company, effective October 16, to accept a senior position at a global pharmaceutical company based in the US.

Anika Therapeutics has appointed Peter Litman, JD, to the position of vice president of business development. He joins the company from Smith & Nephew, where he served as vice president of corporate development for the endoscopy division.

Ventaira Pharmaceuticals has appointed John Denny to the position of vice president of product development. Since December 2003, Denny has served as the vice president of product development of Oriel Therapeutics where he was responsible for all new device development programs.

Myra L. Patchen, PhD, has joined Biothera as vice president, pharmaceutical development, and as a member of the company's Pharmaceutical Steering Committee. Patchen is a consultant to drug development companies in the areas of corporate drug-development strategy; discovery, nonclinical, and clinical pharmaceutical development plans; assistance with nonclinical and clinical study design and placement; and assistance with regulatory strategy and preparation of regulatory applications and documents. Patchen will continue her consulting practice (MLP Consulting) in non-beta glucan technologies.
