Cheered by new data that shows Avastin extending the lives of advanced kidney cancer patients, Roche officials told analysts that they plan 20 regulatory filings for cancer over the next five years. One potential trouble sign for Roche: A new trial showed that lower doses of Avastin in combination with chemotherapy worked as well as high doses of Avastin in treating advanced lung cancer. Those results could shave demand for the blockbuster drug.
