Antares, Jazz ink $16.5M CNS deal

New Jersey-based Antares Pharma has inked a $16.5 million development and license deal with Jazz Pharmaceuticals. The deal is for the development of therapeutics for an unnamed CNS disorder based on Antares' Advanced Transdermal Delivery system. The companies will focus on developing a compound to treat a significant CNS disorder.

"Moving forward with Jazz Pharmaceuticals is another significant validation of the quality, versatility and commercial potential of our ATD delivery system. We are extremely pleased with our progress in a key therapeutic area of CNS and believe it will help patients in an important and meaningful way," Jack E. Stover, President and CEO of Antares Pharma, said in a release.
