Why it was Fierce in 2004: Eximias bought the rights to the liver cancer treatment Thymitaq and was in the process of enrolling subjects in a Phase III trial in patients with inoperable primary liver cancer.
Where are they now? Eximias got a dose of bad news when Thymitaq flunked its Phase III trial. In 2006 YM Biosciences paid at least $25 million to buy Eximias and made the Berwyn-based company its base of operations in the United States.
