  Since its founding in 2003, Chromocell has grown from a three-person operation located in a single, 800 square-foot laboratory at the Commercialization Center for Innovative Technologies on the campus of the Technology Centre of New Jersey to now employing 80 researchers and support staff at a 15,000 square-foot research and office facility at the Centre's Biotechnology Development Center. Chromocell's connections to the community are further strengthened by an internship program that gives Rutgers and other college students a novel opportunity to gain laboratory experience in an industry setting.
 
  
  The new facility has laboratories customized to Chromocell's workflow and will allow the company to expand its operations further in the future.
