Rethinking Clinical Development Sourcing: What the Data Reveals
Clinical development sourcing strategies continue to evolve as sponsors balance increasingly complex trials, expanding technology requirements, cost pressures and the need for greater operational efficiency. Yet despite the widespread use of different sourcing models, there has been limited empirical evidence comparing how these approaches influence trial timelines, quality and cost.
New research conducted in collaboration with the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development and a working group of 13 leading pharmaceutical companies examines data from 81 development programs and 133 clinical trials to provide a clearer view of how sourcing decisions translate into trial performance.
This webinar will explore key findings from the research and consider what they reveal about the changing relationship between sponsors, CROs and other clinical development partners.
The discussion will examine:
What drives sponsors to select different clinical development sourcing models
How sourcing approaches can influence study timelines, quality and cost
The impact of vendor quantity and coordination on trial performance
What is driving technology investment across clinical development
How sponsor and CRO operating models are evolving alongside changing trial needs
Explore what the data reveals about clinical development sourcing and the considerations shaping the next generation of sponsor strategies.
