Scoop: REVA Medical is a medical device company. It's lead product is RESORB--a bioresorbable coronary stent that is designed to fulfill the temporary need for a stent and then fade away. In June of 2007 the company began clinical trials of the stent for coronary artery disease. A second trial is planned to study the safety of the REVA Paclitaxel-Coated Bioresorbable Stent. Funds from the VC round are being used to support trials of the stent.
