Scoop: Intrapace returns to our list after being in the top 10 for all of last year. The company is developing a novel implantable system to treat obesity. The abiliti system is designed to be implanted with standard laparoscopic instruments without making any changes to the anatomy of the digestive system or placing any limitations on what a person can eat or drink. Back in January, the company received the CE Mark for the abiliti system, which is being commercialized in Germany, Spain, the U.K. and Italy.
And just this month, the company European CE Mark approval for the connect.abiliti Wand, which provides wireless access to personal eating and exercise data for patients using an abiliti system.
