A research team at the University of Texas at Arlington is developing a new technique to test pharmaceuticals for their stability and shelf life that could be 100 times more sensitive than one of the most widely used methods. The approach, which is outlined in a study in the June issue of the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, is designed to measure moisture content in active pharmaceutical ingredients such as ibuprofen, tetracycline and ephedrine. Scientists behind the study say the technique is highly accurate and doesn't require a large sample size. Abstract | More
