Tufts to tackle tough issue of lengthy trial startups

It's known that there is a lengthy and burdensome process required to get a clinical trial up and running, especially in the U.S. and Canada, but there's a lack of data on exactly how much time and what steps are taken to initiate a trial. So, San Francisco-based goBalto, a provider of Web software that supports trial startups, said it has provided a grant to Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development to "benchmark the clinical trial initiation process."
