AstraZeneca ($AZN) is looking to bring more of its IT work in-house, spending money to stand up an Indian hub that will replace much of its contract spend in the field. The plan is to expand its operations in Chennai, India, from 75 people to about 300, FierceBiotechIT reports, part of a three-step expansion that will see the drugmaker unveil new IT outposts in San Francisco and Eastern Europe over the next few years. Once the process is complete, AstraZeneca's outsourced IT work will shrink from 70% to 30%, the company said. News
