Adolor Corporation Says FDA Continues Clinical Hold on Trial

EXTON, Pa. -- Adolor Corporation announced today that the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has informed Adolor and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) that it needs additional time to complete its review of the submissions for the release of the clinical hold on alvimopan (Entereg®), and as a result, the clinical hold for all alvimopan Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs) remains in effect. The FDA did not indicate a time frame within which its review would be completed. Adolor and GSK intend to continue working with the FDA while it considers the release of the clinical hold.

Regarding the New Drug Application (NDA) for alvimopan for the management of postoperative ileus (POI), for which a complete response was recently filed, Adolor and GSK continue to prepare for FDA's review. The FDA has a Prescription Drug User Fee Act goal date of February 10, 2008 for this NDA.

These statements are based upon management's current expectations and are subject to risks and uncertainties, known and unknown, which could cause actual results and developments to differ materially from those expressed or implied in such statements.
