Oded Kalev

I bring a unique combination of software development, machine learning, big data and cloud compute expertise to this project. Programming since the age of 8, I have cultivated extensive experience in NLP, computer vision, and big data through my work in a cybersecurity company. Starting as a researcher, I eventually managed the research-oriented R&D division, leading four interdisciplinary teams and driving innovations such as deploying machine learning to production and designing the company’s big data infrastructure.

Iddo Weiner

I am a trained scientist with a robust background in applying computational models to address complex biological challenges. During my joint PhD at the Faculties of Engineering and Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University, I focused on gene expression and functional genomics. My work involved developing predictive models for genetic engineering outcomes and experimentally validating these models in the lab. This research culminated in the publication of 10 peer-reviewed papers, 8 of which I authored as first author. In industry, I have held diverse leadership roles. At BiomX, I spent five years advancing from Head of Bioinformatics to Vice President of Research. In this capacity, I directed the development of integrated experimental and computational R&D pipelines and spearheaded the discovery and development of novel drug candidates. Currently, I serve as Chief Scientific Officer at Converge Bio, where I lead the creation of foundational models for biological data and drive innovative AI applications in biotech and pharma. Additionally, I am a biotechnology consultant for the World Bank, leveraging my expertise to support middle-income governments in expanding and strengthening their biotechnology sectors.
