Clarify Health raises $57M for AI-powered patient engagement apps

Clarify Health Solutions has raised $57 million in new funding to build out its real-time care guidance platform, which aims to link patients to providers and life science customers through innovative care delivery models.

Proceeds from the series B round, led by investment firm KKR, will be used to expand its clinical, sales, engineering and data science teams, as well as acquire new data assets.

In April, the San Francisco-based startup became a qualified entity through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, gaining access to full Medicare data sets for parts A, B and D.

Its goal is to help automate care navigation through predictive analytics and machine learning, based on a data set of over 20 terabytes’ worth of clinical data, real-world insurance claims, social factors, laboratory results and prescriptions.

The company’s primary programs include Clarify Care Prism, its machine-learning analytics engine that evaluates performance in value-based payment programs at the facility, physician and patient levels.

Meanwhile, Clarify’s Care Pilot app helps to guide patient through the healthcare process, with providers prescribing an individual digital care map. The patient engagement app also offers monitoring, communication and the collection of self-reported data.
