Zimmer gets pediatric clearance for spinal fixation system

Zimmer Holdings ($ZMH) has received an additional clearance for its proprietary Universal Clamp spinal fixation system. The system, which is used in conjunction with spinal fusion surgeries, is now indicated for treatment of idiopathic and neuromuscular scoliosis in patients 8 years of age or older--a first for the U.S., the company says. Zimmer release
