Ortho Kinematics has pulled in $2 million in new Series B financing. The Austin, TX-based spine imaging diagnostics company says it will use the cash to fuel commercialization of its proprietary technology platform and also expand its capabilities. Ortho's vertebral motion analysis tech is designed for use along with standard fluoroscopes, which capture video x-ray-like spinal images. As patients perform a series of movements, the company's FDA-cleared diagnostics software tracks the imagery and then produces information about each vertebral movement. CEO Paul Gunnoe told FierceMedicalDevices via email that "previous investors, high net worth individuals, institutions and family offices" participated in the funding round. Release
