Billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong roped in $100 million for his NantBioscience unit, a subsidiary which includes molecular diagnostics venture NantOmics and an immuno-oncology-focused operation, NantCell. Soon-Shiong is staying mum on details about the latest fundraise, but ultimately he aims to build out the company's clinical operating system, which allows researchers to search base genomes through the cloud to pinpoint abnormalities that might uncover personalized treatments for cancer or other diseases, MedCity News reports.
