Sanofi seeks expansion in diagnostics space

Sanofi ($SNY) wants to expand its diagnostics business, CEO Chris Viehbacher disclosed in a recent Bloomberg interview. The French drugmaker is looking to jump into the space with an eye, in part, on rivals such as Roche ($RHHBY), which continues to strengthen and grow its diagnostics arm. But Sanofi won't get there the same way. Veihbacher told Bloomberg that Sanofi needs "to be active in diagnostics [and] biomarkers, but I think we will do that through partnerships, not acquisitions." Story
