Report: Europe creates a $1B GI endoscopy device market by 2016

Europe-wide, providers are boosting screening for colorectal cancer, and device makers stand to benefit substantially by 2016 as a result. The Millennium Research Group estimates Europe's market for gastrointestinal endoscopy devices will grow to $1 billion by that time, representing slow, but steady, growth. One subset that may expand more quickly, however, according to Millennium: covered metal stents used to treat biliary strictures. Policies, such as those in the United Kingdom, will drive this trend, according to the report. Millennium notes that the U.K. will begin offering free colorectal cancer screenings for susceptible populations. Release
