Oxford Nanopore reels in $109M to ramp up R&D

U.K. diagnostics outfit Oxford Nanopore raked in £70 million ($109 million) through a private placement of ordinary shares, with new and existing investors in the U.K., U.S. and Europe contributing financing. The funds will be used to beef up the company's portfolio and fuel R&D, including marketing and development for its electronic molecular analysis systems, the company said in a statement.
