MJFF starts device collaboration for Parkinson's biomarkers; Pitt finds biomarker panel for pulmonary fibrosis survival;

> In an effort to find Parkinson's biomarkers, the Michael J. Fox Foundation and The Kinetics Foundation have formed a partnership to use the Objective Parkinson's Disease Measurement System to measure the effects of the disease.  Release

> Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh have located biomarkers that predict patients' mortality risk from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The panel of 5 proteins, including MMP7, could determine transplant-free and progression-free survival regardless of patients' age, gender or current pulmonary function. Release

> Progenra and the Tokyo Medical University have entered a research collaboration to find rheumatoid arthritis biomarkers. Item

And Finally... The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Biomarkers Consortium will start a two-year clinical trial on biomarkers for drug-induced kidney injury. Researchers hope these new biomarkers will prove more effective than current biomarkers, which still carry a significant false positive risk. Release
