Medtronic ups dividend, eyes share buyback

Medtronic ($MDT) is planning to buy back 80 million shares, good for 8% of what's outstanding, and the company is scaling up its quarterly dividend to 28 cents per share. The company has repurchased about $5.6 billion of its common stock over the past year, and CEO Omar Ishrak said Medtronic is committed to returning 50% of its free cash flow to investors. More
