The widower of a woman who died about 18 months after receiving power morcellation has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Harvard University-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital. The minimally invasive surgical procedure has been implicated in the upclassification of a rare form of uterine cancer that is difficult to detect preoperatively. The lawsuit was also filed against the surgeon who conducted the procedure and power morcellation manufacturer Karl Storz GmbH & Co. KG.
