French molecular diagnostics company bioMérieux was to break ground for an expansion in Durham, NC, on July 9. The Triangle Business Journal reported that the company will add a 25,500-square-foot addition to its existing facility to produce products needed to help diagnose clinical sepsis. The $48 million project will add 44 jobs, and it is backed, in part, by a $400,000 grant from Durham County and a $200,000 grant from the state itself. Story
