Vascular Solutions is paying $3 million to acquire St. Jude Medical's Venture catheter product line, which MedCity News reports as discontinued in July 2011. CEO Phil Nalbone admitted to the news organization that the product isn't used very much. That, in part, is because it is used to help provide control for complex coronary and vascular procedures, among other issues. But Venture remains in demand because it has no competition.
