European authorities granted a CE mark to BioFire Diagnostics for its blood test that can identify more than 100 pathogens known to cause sepsis, which has a mortality rate between 10% and 38%. The FilmArray Blood Culture Identification Panel helps speed up diagnosis of the condition, which becomes more dangerous when left untreated, according to a BioFire release.
