Report: Samsung to test genomic analysis service

Count Samsung as an interested player in the growing genomic analysis game. The Seoul-based tech giant's bioinformatics group plans to test a genomic analysis service, which will analyze whole genome sequencing and RNAseq data, Bio-IT World reports. A pilot phase of the service will take place from September to November, and researchers will be able to upload data onto the company's cloud to have it analyzed for free during the test period. It's more potential competition for a growing number of outfits--including BGI, Complete Genomics ($GNOM) and Knome--that are offering genomic analysis services. Report
