Portal update targets pharma chemists

Evaluation of newly designed synthetic routes and identification of drugs in development are features of an update to the organic synthesis knowledge area within the Prous Science Integrity portal.

The update is intended for pharmaceutical synthetic chemists, who can also use it to identify competitor activity and locate suppliers of selected intermediates. It also targets chemists at fine chemicals companies, who can use it to identify the development phase of drug candidates, giving them the opportunity to promote their existing chemicals, develop new intermediates or highlight alternative steps in a synthesis scheme.

The portal allows researchers to retrieve intermediates and reagents, as well as synthesis schemes, to pinpoint characteristics of synthesis route components. Visualizations, filtering methods, and the use of the current industry standard chemical taxonomony (InChIs) aid new research. The updated capabilities sit atop a Prous foundation of 19,000 schemes of synthesis and 85,000 structure-searchable intermediates.
