Medidata Solutions ($MDSO) has been on a well-documented hunt for new business from CROs that are modernizing their methods of managing clinical trials data and taking a greater share of the clinical development market. Now the New York-based provider of clinical trials software is expanding its CRO connections in China, where Shanghai-based Tigermed Consulting has become the first Chinese contract researcher to join Medidata's partner program. Tigermed, which has 39 offices across China, plans to initially use Medidata's hosted electronic data capture (EDC) and clinical trial management system (CTMS) platform, called Rave, for Phase III trials, according to Medidata's release.
