Discovery company enriches software tools

Gene-to-candidate discovery company BioFocus has again turned to Dotmatics for drug discovery software--this time for enterprise query/reporting, data management and data visualization. UK-based Biofocus has been a user since 2006 of the Dotmatics Gateway data-management and -sharing system.

Under the new deal, BioFocus will deploy the Browser data-mining and -management software, Nucleus data-mapping and import software, and Vortex data-visualization software systems across its research programs and project teams. The company claims some 100 SoftFocus compound libraries, the most recent of which targets protein-protein interactions and launched in September.

Dotmatics Browser and Vortex software has also been selected by the nonprofit CHDI Foundation, a Huntington's disease researcher.
