Philippines opens IBM-powered bioinformatics facility

The Philippine Genome Center opened its Core Facility for Bioinformatics this week having acquired an IBM ($IBM) supercomputer. PGC set up the bioinformatics center to complement its existing next-generation sequencing work. IBM provided the Blue Gene supercomputer that underpins the bioinformatics site. Article
