Dovetail Genomics makes pitch for genome assembly market

Dovetail Genomics has started offering a de novo whole genome assembly service. The service, which is underpinned by software that helps to capture long-range genomic data, is intended to complement rather than compete with Illumina ($ILMN). 10X Genomics is following a similar model, but Dovetail CEO Todd Dickinson thinks they are addressing different markets.
