GlaxoSmithKline initiates global cancer consortium

GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK) is launching what it calls the Oncology Clinical and Translational Consortium, a collaborative scientific research network intended to advance drug discovery that will include 6 cancer centers around the world: Gustave Roussy in France, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, and Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology in Barcelona. The consortium is meant to spur scientific collaboration among the members and the pharma giant. Release
