In latest acquisition, IMS Health scoops up Incential Software

Continuing its acquisition spree, IMS Health has scooped up yet another cloud-based software company--the fourth in the past several months--buying up Raleigh, NC-based Incential Software to advance its sales and planning capabilities for life sciences companies on an even broader scale.

IMS Health said the acquisition will enable the company to help clients transform their commercial models to meet changing demands in the marketplace. Incential's cloud-based technology integrates incentive compensation, data management and business intelligence applications to help manage sales operations.

"Every life sciences company, across every commercial operation, is looking to tap the power of data-driven, technology-enabled solutions to make their sales compensation plans more efficient, effective and aligned," said Lisa Kerber, vice president and general manager, Commercial Effectiveness Services, IMS Health.

The acquisition will bring together IMS Health's healthcare information, analytics, managed services and technology with Incential's software solutions optimized for the life sciences industry to provide clients with instant access to information and services to help them plan and implement a sales force strategy and make their sales compensation plans more efficient and effective.

The acquisition is the latest to expand the company's fast-growing portfolio of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Earlier this year, IMS Health acquired 360 Vantage, Appature and Semantelli.
