Quintiles shedding 270 jobs in a cost-cutting move

Global CRO Quintiles ($Q) is planning to lay off about 270 workers, 1% of its payroll, in an effort to reduce "excess capacity," the company said. Quintiles is working to lower operating costs and improve profitability, it said in an SEC filing, not specifying which business units or locations would take staffing cuts. Last year, the CRO boosted its revenue by 9.4% to $4.2 billion and it expects 2015 revenue to grow between 7.5% and 9% over the prior year, forecasting earnings growth of 12% to 16%. More
