Quintiles lends its data-crunching know-how to Apple's ResearchKit

Quintiles ($Q) has contributed some open-source code to improve Apple's ($AAPL) ResearchKit project, a platform designed to help physicians and scientists gather medical data from millions of patients. The CRO stitched together some enhancements to Apple's existing framework that allow for more sophisticated surveys and patient-centric apps, the company said. Quintiles has posted its work on GitHub, an open-source repository of code, allowing developers around the world to build on its endeavors. The company is also planning to develop ResearchKit-based apps of its own focused on patient engagement. More from FierceMedicalDevices
