SAN DIEGO -- Zogenix, Inc. (“Zogenix”), a private, specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") relating to the proposed initial public offering of shares of its common stock. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined. The shares of common stock to be sold in this offering are proposed to be sold by Zogenix, Inc.

Banc of America Securities LLC is the sole book-running manager for the offering. Leerink Swann, Thomas Weisel Partners LLC and Susquehanna Financial Group, LLLP are co-lead managers. This offering will be made only by means of a prospectus.
