Japan's Takeda and South Korea's LG Life Sciences have agreed to collaborate on the development of new obesity drugs. The companies said that the collective value of the deal could be worth more than $100 million for LG Life. LG will be responsible for the medicinal chemistry involved in identifying new drug candidates while Takeda will be responsible for clinical development work. Takeda also announced that it is taking full responsibility on the development of R-851, an experimental therapy for topical cervical high-risk human papillomavirus infection and cervical dysplasia that it had been collaborating with 3M on. And Takeda also announced a collaboration deal with CanBas on CBP501, a potential cancer therapy.
