SPOTLIGHT: Bill bars trade rep block on drug imports

In a bid to make drug importation easier, House and Senate lawmakers introduced a bill that would keep US trade representatives from striking deals to keep internationally manufactured drugs off the market. Recent trade agreements with Singapore, Australia and Morocco require the consent of drug patent owners to import drugs for sale in the US, which would effectively prevent the practice. Story
