Schwarzenegger leads cheer for California biotech

The Governator turned up at BIO on Tuesday, winning over a full house of star-struck biotech executives with a few jokes and a big huzzah for the state's $3 billion stem cell initiative. Schwarzenegger has become a big booster of the state's biotech industry, which is the state's second-biggest tech industry. The San Diego Union-Tribune notes that the state's biotech advocates are going to the state for more economic incentives. BayBio is asking for a billion dollars in incentives covering tax policy, land use issues and more.
