Premier Healthcare Alliance Names Durral Gilbert President of Supply Chain Services

The has promoted Durral Gilbert to the president of supply chain services, effective immediately.

Premier, a provider-owned performance improvement alliance of 2,600 hospitals and 86,000-plus other care sites, has tasked Gilbert with leading its group purchasing and supply chain emerging services.

Prior to serving as the president of supply chain services, Gilbert was senior vice president of supply chain emerging services. In that position, he worked with his team to lead the development of Premier's innovative pharmacy offerings for providers to better access and manage the cost and quality of medications, while strategically identifying overall supply chain and clinical improvement opportunities.

Last year, working with Premier field employees, Gilbert helped lead alliance members to save more than $4.2 billion through improved processes and efficiencies. He has also led the design of Premier's semiannual publication and his efforts have contributed to Premier's continued status among the top group purchasing organizations in the industry.

Gilbert is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where he held the distinction as an Executive Fellow. Prior to joining Premier in 2006, he served as chief operating officer of BDS Management LLC, a $300 million wealth and investment management company where he led the business operations and financial functions for the company and its affiliated portfolio companies. Gilbert began his professional career in Atlanta as a certified public accountant with Price Waterhouse LLP.

Additionally, Andy Brailo has been promoted to senior vice president of member field services to advance his existing work in engaging field employees across the U.S. to work directly with providers. In his new role, he is responsible for aligning and enhancing member engagement to drive dramatic and sustained value.
