Pharmatech Taps R. Jerald Beers to Lead Business Development

HAYWARD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pharmatech Associates, service provider to the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries, today announced the addition of veteran biopharmaceutical executive R. Jerald Beers to lead business and commercial development.

In a career spanning over 35 years, Beers has spearheaded business development and commercialization activities for a number of companies important in the growth and development of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. Beers is joining Pharmatech at a time when demand for technical support is increasing across a broad range of therapeutic areas for a consultancy with fully integrated development experience that can provide assistance with process qualification, facility operations, product design and commercialization.

A co-founder of Itero Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., Beers brings to Pharmatech his years of experience in biopharma and drug delivery product and molecule partnering, along with business and commercial development, to complement Pharmatech's suite of product development services. He previously held senior executive level positions at Genentech, Inc., Aradigm Corporation and Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on the West Coast, and spent nearly two decades in the pharmaceutical industry at DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Inc., American Hospital Supply Corporation and G.D. Searle & Co. He holds a BA degree from Brown University and a MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
