Pfizer projected flat revenue growth in the year ahead, sparking a sell-off of its stock and weighing down the Dow in early trading today. Pfizer has been closely watched to see if it has new products in the pipeline that can replace the big earners on the market. Executives maintain that they will see new revenue growth in 2007 as new drugs and "in-line medicine growth" garner new revenue. It's obvious that Pfizer has a way to go before it earns any fresh belief in its pipeline. Still to come is a decision on the fate of its consumer healthcare division, which may be put on the market. A decision is expected by the third quarter.
