OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: OMCM), one of the fastest growing companies in the electronic data capture (EDC) marketplace, today announced that the company's TrialMaster EDC product has connected to Microsoft HealthVault. This new functionality will streamline the information flow by enabling health records and data stored in the patient's HealthVault account to be transferred into TrialMaster for inclusion with other information gathered during clinical trial participation.

Microsoft HealthVault is a personal health application platform designed to put consumers in control of their health information. HealthVault enables users to connect to and share information across the health ecosystem and facilitates the upload of data from home monitoring devices like blood glucose monitors, blood pressure cuffs and pedometers. By providing consumers with easy access to their health information HealthVault encourages them to better manage their health and wellness. TrialMaster will leverage this patient-centric platform in a variety of ways including Patient Diary, Continuity of Care Records (CCR), direct device data upload and more to provide more efficient, accurate information for those patients participating in clinical trials.

"HealthVault was developed to help consumers play a more active role in their health and wellness by giving them control of their health information," said David Cerino, general manager for the Consumer Health Solutions Group at Microsoft Corp. "By connecting to HealthVault, OmniComm enables a more connected view of a patient's data by both the consumer and the clinical trial administrator, enabling all stakeholders to make more informed decisions around the clinical trial experience."

"We are extremely pleased to be able to offer this service to HealthVault users who are also participating in clinical trials," said Randy Smith, Chief Technology Officer of OmniComm. "The versatile HealthVault platform allows us not only to retrieve patient-centric information but also share select information with patients gathered during the clinical trial process. This technology offers a true advantage in its ability to directly upload data from many devices including blood pressure monitors, heart rate monitors, glucose meters, pulse oximeters, scales and other devices thus improving data management and quality assurance."
