A new study says that the threat of obesity rises with age in the US. Over time, nine-out-of-10 men and seven-out-of-10 women will become overweight. Men and women who make it to middle age without becoming overweight are at risk as well. One-quarter of those men and one-third of those women will go on to become obese. Health experts called the results of the Boston University study "sobering," noting that obesity is linked to a long list of lethal cardiovascular ailments. The numbers are also likely to further fuel the work in drug development focused on finding new therapies to fight fat.
