Fueled in part by the new Medicare drug subsidy, prescription drug spending in the US is set to grow between 8 percent and 9 percent next year, according to a new report by IMS Health. Worldwide sales of drugs should hit $650 billion, according to IMS, with the US accounting for $280 billion of that. US drug sales are rising faster than in any other country.
